Ummm...??? Isn't a pound a pound? No trick here, some people just lack common sense!
We may lack common sense, but you lack ordinary knowledge. What an IDIOT!!!
EVERY1 SHOULD KNOW THIS UNLESS YOUR THICK.
A pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold because feathers are weighed by avoirdupois weight, which has 16 ounces to a pound, while gold is always weighed by troy weight which only contains 12 ounces to a pound.
the question referres to weight, troy weight measures mass, not weight. The pounds mentioned in the question must be avoirdupois pounds, because they do measure weight. Therefore, they weigh the same

how stupid can u be if u dont pick b
the pound of feathers are heavier because of troy weight which is 12 ounces instead of 16.
gold is measured in troy ounces which is 12 ounces to a pound at 31.1 grams per ounces while non metals are measured in avoirdupois ounces at 16 ounces per pound and 28.35 grams per ounces..therefore 1 pound of gold weighs 373 grams and a pound of a non metal (feather) weighs 453.6 grams . looks a lot like feather would be heavier
A better question would be: What costs more, a pound of areogel or a pound of gold? The answer may suprise you...
Gold is only weighed in Troy units. 1 Troy pound (of gold) = 12 Troy ounces = 13.17 regular ounces. 1 regular pound (of feathers) = 16 regular ounces. The pound of feathers weighs more. Sort of a trick question.
Also, it doesn't matter if it is mass or weight. It could say '5cmx12cmx16cm of gold'. If you weighed 24g of gold and and 10lbs of feathers, the feathers still weigh more. Nothing to do with the unit it was labeled with, it doesn't make a difference.
It's funny that the idiots are the ones calling people idiots. Irony.
