You should probably go to Blocked Wishes page and check out their stuff to see just how radio friendly they are and how they are not stuck in one genre, and can cross the lines. They are extremely talented and i hope they win this thing they deserve it! The best band will win, good luck to all.

I'm not so sure if this competition is about who's more "Radio Friendly". There is a whole world beyond whats on the radio... that makes just as much money.

I saw the show last night and they did AMAZING...it was good weather, there was a good size crowd and i love their new song! Thats funny you say they suck when it was a lot of regulars at the show...and when did this contest turn into such a petty bickering high shcool level of maturity, everyones style of music is different appreciate it for what
it is, a true musician can appreciate all genres of music and is open minded to every style different from theirs a true musician wouldnt attack anothers craft, so think about that next time sitting behind your computer finding the courage to say the things you say....

Just wanted to wish all the bands luck... honestly don't think that the judges will take this poll seriously... mostly because (and you got to admit) these numbers are unrealistic and outlandish. I don't know, Blocked Wish and JLB both have a pretty big following in New England. I agree yes the votes my a bit out thre, there still an accurate % of the vote more than likely.

Yeah i heard the JLB ad on WBRU for this contest, i think thats pretty unfair....i dont hear any other bands getting advertisement on WBRU, must pay to go to BROWN and know the DJS....no wonder he won the ROCk HUNT seems like a big SCAM
Johnny Lingo didn't go to Brown University... and the DJ's @ BRU change every year. this contest is not unfair... the judges ultimately decide who wins... the radio ad is to get people to come out to the show... has anybody here ever thought about the business of music? BRU wouldn't play Johnny's music if they thought it sucked

Yeah i think its sad how he is advertising himself all over WBRU.....he won over 3 years ago but still seems pretty tight with WBRU especially for not knowing anyone there....just seems weird...and a bit odd that the day before he plays the contest he has a on air interview at WBRU....strange
HAHAHA, if radio got to play what they liked, they wouldn't need the Home Bru'd or SoundCheck segments, and there would be a lot more indie/hardcore/underground/metal on the radio.

I'd say it's "FairHaven" when you try to get "Something For Nothing." but it's the "Blocked Wish" that affects your "Train of Thought" while driving on "Rt. 44" wearing your impressive "Lemon Lime Tennis Shoes" on your way to see "Johnny Lingo Band" on Oct. 4th @ 5pm

Fairhaven has a unique melodic sound and image that can be marketed to many different types of consumers in the music industry. JC
Woah, no one said anything against promoting the show / themselves... but having a radio commercial is something that is out of reach for the rest of the bands... which equals an unfair advantage.

Its not unfair to promote your band im sure every band here is, but when they actually have a on-air interview with BRU the day before his show that is pretty unfair, it will be very discouraging if JLB wins this contest he already had his shot when he won the Rock Hunt in 04..clearly it wasnt that in demand if he is still doing these shows

yea this thing was pretty much set up from the start.... but why does JLB want a free CD dont they already have one recorded?? If it there music is that good shouldnt they be signed to a label already?
you know what.... i do already have a cd.. just finished it in June..made it @ Danger Studios in Providence.. so i'm not sure what would happen if i won this...let me emphasize if.. cause all the bands have a good chance.. ..but a 1000 retail ready cds and distribution to local f.y.e. stores sounds good to me... and this contest was not set up at a
at all.. I see it as an opportunity to get exposure and hopefully play a fun and exciting show.. actually if anybody on this thing comes this thursday.. i'll give you a free copy of my new album... including people not in one of the bands..
seems like this is unfair to ALL THE BANDS! Two bands must have someone sitting at their computers voting all day to get that many votes! I think you should only be able to vote ONCE and you might see how many real votes that are cast!
say band A has 100 votes and band B has 500 votes. Granted thats 5X as many, but chances are they have that many more people voting more than once...
i heard from someone on the inside that they are really taking this voting seriously so even if it is one person behind the computer.. the other bands have a lot of catching up to do... especially if they think they are gonna beat JLB or Blocked Wish
i saw the JLB and you could barely hear the vocals... what a poor live representation of his music... good luck to all the bands..

Look ateach band's Myspace page, then you'll see who has a real fan base and who is voting for themselves by how many plays and friends they have.

Something to think about...Most of these bands have pics of recording studios on there myspace...Blocked Wish does not...and there music still sounds better lol

There really were probably about 50-60 people for LLTS that night. They seriously played well and rocked the house last Thursday. LLTS all the way!!!!!!!!!!
I go to almost all of LLTS' shows in the RI area, and they have been known to draw a crowd of close to 300 people at the living room. I seriously doubt any of these other bands can match up to that.
